That mom also has pooh for brains when it comes to Ralphie… or King Ralph as he likes to be called.
Mom sleeps really badly.
How do I know?
Half the time I’m fast asleep and she pulls the blankie out from me, waking me up in the process and then covers me up all snuggly tight saying… “There you go Fudgie-wena.”
I give a tiny thump of tail to indicate that really I was not one bit cold and I was very fast asleep when she woke me up and half scared the furry knickers off me in the process, but that actually I do still really love her and appreciate her efforts – even though it is the middle of the night.
As I was saying… mom does not sleep like a normal person.
Ralph likes to go to sleep on their bed.
Then half way through the night he scratches on the covered brick that keeps the door shut (our doors don’t like to stay closed – even when they are closed – if you get my meaning – that’s why I could sneak into Luan’s room and eat his bones).
Krrstkrsstkrsst go his claws on the denim covering.
Mom gets up and carefully opens the door for him.
He twiddles himself around her feet.
“Go Ralphie” she hisses at him.
Miaouwppuurrrppp… he answers back.
She gives his furry bum a little push with her toes.
Off you go – shoo!
He slinks around the doorway and tootles off down the passageway towards his food bowl.
Mom puts the brick back – but leaves enough space so that he can osmose through the door if he so chooses to return. Hah!
A bit later he does so choose.
He sneaks in quietly.
Jumps up on their bed then stomps up the length of mom’s bod and settles on her back or chest – depending on which way she is lying.
He purrs in her ear.
Grrrgrrrgrrrgrrrgrrrrrh.
Mom groans… Eish Ralph! I just fell asleep after being awake for hours and hours.
Ralph kneads bits of her.
She sticks her arm out of the duvet, fully awake now, and gives him a cuddle.
“Rotten cat” she mumbles.
He kneads and purrs some more, then settles himself down next to her to sleep.
I look at mom… who is the stupid one now hey?
