Good morning to you too!

This autumn weather is sometimes a bit of a pain.

I start out the night sleeping in my baskie.

Then I get too hot so have to move onto the tiles for a bit.

Then it gets chilly and I move back into my baskie.

Sometimes I just lie half in and half out of my baskie.

This works quite well as long as that wretched mom does not trample me when she goes to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

My basket is right next to her bed.

This morning I woke up and found that mom had already gone downstairs to make coffee.

Sneaky woman – how did she manage to do that so silently?

I shuffled out of my basket and positioned myself nicely on the tiles in front of the door.

A bit later I vaguely heard the chink-chink of the coffee cups on the tray coming up the stairs.

The door opened and the next thing there was one helluva noise.

Together with the loud noise came a whooshing… oeff noise and something flew over my furry bod.

Moldy meatballs!

How rude.

Waking your precious doglet up in such a manner.

Alpha leapt up and Luan came running.

What a palaver.

There was mom lying flat on the floor, covered in coffee.

My… erm… Alpha’s porridge was scattered all over the place, mom’s favourite mug was in bits and the tray was also broken.

She’d had the rusk tin under her arm and that was nicely dented too.

Somehow the porridge bowl and Alpha’s mug managed to survive the carnage.

Tsk tsk. How very careless.

Damaging all that stuff.

Fudges! Yelped mom.

I looked at her – what?

You should look where you are going.

You nearly damaged your darling doglet with hot coffee and flying glass.

A big cleanup ensued.

I took myself off downstairs to do my morning business.

By the time I came back order had been restored.

Emma had made more coffee and Alpha had to do with rusks for brekky instead of Weetabix.

Mom tootled off to the shower to wash the coffee out of her hair.

Alpha fixed mom’s mug (Granma gave it to her years ago – it had cats on it) but he said she should rather use it for pens than coffee.

Now she can get a new mug with dogs on it.
