Be on the lookout for scrap collector

People should be warned about this man asking for scrap.

Last week I was on my phone outside in my garden when a man approached me and asked me if I had scrap that he could sell.

My response was no, but then he asked for water.

I unlocked the gate and allowed him entry to my property so that he could drink water from the tap.

When he left I locked the gate again.

While I was doing so, the man informed me that someone down the street had assaulted him.

Before knowing what happened, he grabbed me to illustrate how he was assaulted.

After the commotion, the man left.

It was only a few minutes later that I realised my cellphone was no longer in my pocket.

Needless to say, I tried to find the man, but he was long gone.

He says he wants scrap to sell at a scrapyard, but this is just an excuse to take something that doesn’t belong to him.
