Remember why you get up every day

Are we born and bred to get an education, find employment, procreate and then leave without so much as a going away party?

The honest truth is that employment is a definite requirement in order to survive and to keep your offspring alive and educated but are our lives just about punching the clock-in card?

It’s an endless cycle of waking up, trekking to places of employment and then getting home, checking homework, cooking, cleaning and then making sure the young ones are in bed on time.

Before we know it, we haven’t heard about the day at school, the netball tryouts or if the aching knee is from a fall or a push.

The hours spent making a living do not equal to the time spent raising our future leaders.

Society has left us no choice but to have both parentals providing an income and have left us little time to spend the money we work for.

There is no solution to the dilemma faced by many parents who would rather be at home playing house.

We are forced to work so that our precious little beings can have the best education, clothes on their growing bodies and food for their Sonic the Hedgehog metabolism.

The rewards for our endless hours of employment will come at a later stage, when the bambinos are adults and we are left being grandparents to the future generations.

That is when work is no longer a necessity, if you have been wise as a young adult, that is.

Your children will be grateful one day for the hard work you put in to ensure they live comfortably.

And if getting up every day is difficult enough then just remember why you do it.

The hours may not add up but it is easier to be employed and tired than be unemployed and stressed.

So in my very humble opinion, work may seem like a non stop train ride but I happen to believe that one day all the hard work pays off.
