There’s always something to complain about

Sometimes, all one can do is shake your head at humanity in disappointment.

Nagging is the order of the day it seems.

If there is nothing to nag about, come hell or high water, we will find something.

It truly is a never-ending circle and appreciation is few and far between.

When it’s freezing cold in winter, we want the warm rays of the sun.

Then when the sun arrives in summer, it’s too hot and people want it to be colder because they do not like the heat.

Throughout the cold and dry winter months, people wish it would rain so the ground can be replenished.

Low and behold, with the turn of the new season, rain comes and falls in a storm and after a few days of delightful rain, the ground becomes muddy.

Then we complain about the mud.

We humans want everything to be perfect.

Perfect weather to suit us, perfect conditions so we can be satisfied, perfect temperature to fit our liking and perfect everything so that we could endure the day perfectly.

That’s a lot of perfects.

Take women for example, they (and I’m generalising here) always want what they don’t have, despite what they have.

If they have long, straight hair, they want it to be curly.

If they have curly hair, they spend thousands to make it straight.

If they have large breasts, they want smaller ones and vice versa.

Same goes with the colour of the hair, their height and the size of backsides.

We all want different things in different ways and at different times to suit our needs and wants.

Guess what, it’s not going to happen.

It’s going to rain when you planned a spectacular day outdoors.

It’s going to be cold when you’re in the mood for ice cream (not that this will stop me).

And it’s going to be hot when you have a thousand things to do and have to run around like a headless chicken.

I regularly hear these kinds of complaints and similar others, and then I realise I also tend to complain about senseless issues.

How would complaining help your situation?

Will the clouds block out the sun when they hear you say it’s too hot?

Will the rain spontaneously stop when it sees you had something planned outside?

Start making the best out of a bad situation and life will definitely seem like it’s getting better.

Keep seeing the negative side of things and your life will be negative.
