Dudu an asset to Home Affairs

Thank you Dudu Mbatha from Home Affairs, for your service to the community.

My husband, Errol Preston, was at Home Affairs recently, to collect his passport.

The room was crowded, and there was one belligerent man threatening to destroy the office because he had some problem with an application he had made on behalf of his son.

He was swearing and cursing and being unbelievably rude to staff.

One woman talked to him, very calmly, asking him to stop his swearing as there were women and children in the room.

She assured him they would do their best to assist him and get his son’s passport.

It took quite a while to calm the man down, he was an absolute disgrace to society.

This woman from Home Affairs took this man to her office and Errol did not see her again.

He commends her on handling a very difficult situation and was so impressed with the staff at Home Affairs.

Further to this, from the time of application for his passport, they offered to give him a new Smart ID card.

They took him through the effortless procedure, and when he collected the passport, he was reminded that his Smart ID card was ready and he was taken to where he could collect it.

Gillian and Errol Preston.
