Thumbs up for the metro

At long last I would like to congratulate the council on having a woman who is a real credit to her department.

Her name is Pauline and she works in the water and lights section.

She is a pleasure to deal with and could not be more polite.

I went in on Monday to try to sort out an account for my mother and when I wanted to give in my readings she took the reading for the electricity.

She refused to accept the reading for the water and demanded a photograph, because the amount was less than the one on the computer.

I got the impression that I was not telling the truth.

I was also told that the amount owing was R5 300 and it had to be paid straight away.

I then went to Pauline who told me that the amount owing was only R2 300.

A big difference and once again congratulations Pauline.

But with all of this, I wonder why does the council use private people to deliver a final notice but not normal accounts.

Peter Denton.
