A few months ago I questioned the expense and sensibleness of all the new concrete street lights erected along Rietfontein Road below Kwa Thema.
As predicted the cable has been cut and stolen from the waste dump going west.
What a total waste of money this project has been!
Where there are no houses or buildings the cables always get stolen (no one to watch over them?) and I am shocked that with modern technology a way cannot be found to install an alarm system on all these cables to prevent theft.
Either that, or there are, and that tells me its an inside job.
My domestic worker tells me many people in Kwa Thema fully believe it is the installers who keep stealing cables because they know exactly where to cut and remove cable.
Makes sense and needs investigating!
