In deep pooh!

I, my own furry Fudgie self, was in deep pooh this weekend.

I hear you all saying… Oh No! Fudgie-wena what happened?

It was like this. We went for a lovely walk in the veld. Nothing untoward happened. Apart from the fact those nasty Kiewit’s seem to be breeding again so I have to play ball on the path instead of in the open patch, it was an uneventful walk. Did not even spot a snack to snarl at.

I’m not one to ever turn my nose up at a walk – but in some ways it was almost barking boring.

We went home. Drove in the gate. Parked in our driveway.

I can hear you all whining that so far this is not a very amazing story. Patience people – I’m getting to the point.

Alpha opened my door – I don’t need my step to get out of the car – just to get into the car.

As I leapt nimbly out of the car I spotted a snack.

An unfettered, weaselly, shifty-eyed looking snack.

The dodgy snack realised it had been spotted and took off like a rocket. Yelping and howling. What a cowardly critter – I had only looked at it. Had not even had a chance to display a fearsome fang or utter a single bark yet.

I took off like a rocket after it. Barking loudly and making a ferocious noise. It howled even louder.

Round the corner we went and down the road to the other side of the complex.

My ears neglected to hear Mom yelling at me in capital letters. It was only when the snack disappeared into an open doorway that I came to my senses.

Mom and Alpha were hot on my paws, bellowing at me. In fact, that horrible Mom even gave me a tap on my backside, she was so cross.

You BAD meanie dog, Mom yelled. You could have been run over if a car had come down the road at that moment. What were you thinking?

Then she had a go at Alpha… How could you open the door for Fudge if there was a dog loose?

Alpha reckoned he never saw the dog. Mom said he needed to wear his glasses more.

I took the opportunity to slink inside whilst they were snapping at each other.

That wretched Ralph was sitting in the doorway, smirking.
