EMPD Bronberg Precinct officers cornered a white VW Polo at Springs Mall on November 14. The vehicle was reported to be involved in a spate of criminal activities in and around Ekurhuleni.
After receiving a tip on its whereabouts, the EMPD crime-fighting unit responded.
EMPD spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa said the suspicious vehicle was found abandoned and parked strategically among other vehicles at the mall.
“After the vehicle was thoroughly searched, the officers discovered that it was in the commission of criminal activities,” said Thepa.
Thepa added that an outstanding case was opened against the vehicle at the Zonkizwe Police Station in Katlehong.
The vehicle was impounded and booked for safekeeping at the Aeroton police yard.
