The Bhairavi Sungum of Springs held its 28th Sarasvathee Celebrations on Sunday. They celebrated their heritage and honoured the communities resilience that brings them together.
It was the first Sarasvathee Celebration since 2019 followed by the pandemic and, now are overcoming its challenges and starting to fulfill their cultural and welfare activities.
The Sarasvathee Celebrations enjoyed a full programme consisting of music, song and dance.

It is symbolic and always done at such cultural events.
Various dances were held and the guest speaker, Dr Sivakumarie Reddhi, shared a powerful message before a few cultural and language performances and delicious food.
Chairlady Poovershree Pillay paid tribute to the loss of their beloved teacher, Sarnam Naicker who departed early this year at the age of 88.

“Her dedication to education and her embodiment of wisdom left an indelible mark on all of us,” said Pillay.
“In remembrance of her life, we have chosen to honour her legacy through our Sarasvathee Celebrations – a cornerstone of education within the Sungum.”
The Bhairavi Sungum of Springs is passionate about its heritage and plans to continue with many similar cultural events including welfare activities going forward.
