OUR Amazing Race: Know your rhino – Rapula

All proceeds will go towards rhino conservation efforts.

This November, Springsites are invited to participate in a day of fun, teamwork and adventure that will bring them together for a common cause – the protection of rhinos in Limpopo.

The rhinos are the pride and joy of the D’Arrigo family and, in collaboration with Insimbi Legacy Projects, they will bring to Springs a once-in-a-lifetime event, OUR Amazing Race.

Rapula, whose name means ‘giver of rain’ in SePedi, was born during the last rains that would befall the reserve.
He is considered to be a blessing hence his given name.

Rapula was one of the smallest recorded calves to be born on the reserve. His big feet spoke of his big personality as his track measured 12cm.

Fearless Rapula challenges other calves almost twice his age. Nothing can stand in his way except for loud noises.

He is a naughty boy who likes to wander off – but not too far from his mother. Rapula is one of the rhino who will be the beneficiary of the proceeds of OUR Amazing Race.

OUR Amazing Race will be held from 11:00 on November 2 at the Springs Mall. The theme is Out of Africa.
