Springs SAPS focus on multiple crimes during operation

Fifty-eight people and 15 vehicles were searched during the operation with eight vehicles tested.

In a concerted effort to ensure the safety and well-being of the community, the Springs SAPS conducted a station commander’s operation on Tuesday.

The operation mainly focused on trio crimes (house robberies, business robberies and hijackings), crime prevention, second-hand goods compliance, liquor compliance, illegal mining and hotspots in Springs.

The police issued fines to a liquor trader for selling liquor without a licence and a second-hand dealer for trading without a licence.

One liquor outlet was closed and 19 230ml of liquor was confiscated. Two people were also arrested for being unable to produce legal documents.
