Welgedacht sports day boosts community spirit

Welgedacht community unites for second annual sports day on September 7.

Residents of Welgedacht came together for their second annual sports day on September 7, an event that showcased a variety of sports and fitness activities.

This year’s event featured aerobics, karate, soccer, netball, and cycling, all organised to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage community engagement.

The primary aim of the sports day is to foster a commitment to fitness and wellness within the community, while also addressing issues such as youth involvement in illegal substance abuse.

The sports coordinators emphasised that the goal is to hold more of these events to keep the community active and engaged in positive activities.

The event received generous support from several local sponsors, including Tshipi Noto Funeral Parlour, and the Emergency Services Department.

Their contributions were vital in making the day a success and reinforcing the importance of community health and wellness.
