Pageant crowns Miss Springs winner

Our new Miss Springs was crowned on Saturday.

Miss Springs 2023 winner Roxette Barnard has officially handed over the crown to the new queen, Bejandri Lourens.

The Miss Springs pageant was on Saturday evening at Die Agterplaas in Casseldale, where Lourens took the winner’s crown.

Contestants from Springs and surrounding areas entered, and 12 finalists were selected to participate in the grand finale.

Contestants aged between 17 and 28 participated in the evening and strutted their stuff onstage. This year’s Miss Springs competition was different, with a panel of mentors assigned to each finalist.

Bejandri Lourens is proud to represent the town.

These mentors walked a narrow path with the finalists in the past few months, where they participated in boot camps, charity events and workshops.

On Saturday evening, the excited and nervous contestants prepared for the event. As the evening progressed, tensions rose about who the Miss Springs 2024 would be.

The award for Miss Photogenic went to Ashley Joubert. Miss Social Media went to Danike van den Berg, and the senior debutante went to Cheyenne Druez. The second princess was Gabriella DÀrrigo, and the first princess of this category was Van den Berg.

The winner and new Miss Springs 2024 is Bejandri Lourens. Keep an eye on next week’s paper to learn more about the new Miss Springs winner.
