Enderun learners celebrate women with heartfelt art

Enderun Colleges marked Women’s Day with a series of heartfelt and creative activities designed to honour the women in learners’ lives.

Learners engaged in a meaningful project where they created acronyms using the words “woman” and “women” to describe the qualities and strengths of the important women they know.

Grade Nine learner Siyabonga Matabula (9) and Grade 11 learner and Unathi Ndongeni showcased their artistic skills by designing a silhouette that served as a canvas for the acronyms.

The learners then affixed their descriptive words and messages to the silhouette, which was prominently displayed in the school’s foyer, becoming a powerful symbol of appreciation and respect.

The day held special meaning for the boys, who eagerly anticipated spending the weekend with their mothers or guardians.

The activities served as a poignant reminder of the crucial roles that women play in their lives, enhancing their appreciation and understanding of the importance of honouring and celebrating women.

In addition, learners wrote heartfelt letters to the special women in their lives. Each letter was accompanied by a sweet token of appreciation – a chocolate – complementing their expressions of love and gratitude.

The event not only encouraged creativity and personal expression but also highlighted the significance of acknowledging and cherishing the women who profoundly impact their lives.
