Trio ‘looking’ for old clothes rob Struisbult house

The Springs SAPS is on the lookout for two women and a man following a house robbery on August 2 in Struisbult.

Two women and a man robbed a woman at her home on August 2 in Struisbult on Kwartel Street.

The trio reportedly used a deceptive ploy, pretending to be in search of old children’s clothes, to gain entry into the victim’s home.

According to Springs SAPS communications officer Sergeant Themba Tshabalala, the victim was outside attending to a dirty bin when two women approached her, asking for old children’s clothes.

“The complainant alleged that she went inside the house to look for the clothes, and one of the women followed her,” said Tshabalala.

The stolen items included a 55-inch LG plasma TV, a 43-inch Sony plasma TV, five door handles, two cellphones, an amplifier, a kettle, an iron, and cash, with an estimated total value of R21 800.
