Entities pack food for donation on Mandela Day

Badger Holdings recently hosted its annual Mandela Day food-packing drive.

In honouring Mandela Day, Badger Holdings in Selcourt hosted its annual Mandela Day food-packing drive on July 18.

This year, they involved two companies, Road Protect, and African Independent Brokers, to form part of the drive.

The companies competed against each other to see which could work faster and pack the most food.

One packet, containing rice, soya, and soup mix, can feed about six children.

Badger Holdings’ aim for the day was to pack 240 boxes containing 30 packets each. The boxes will be distributed to churches, feeding schemes, and anyone in need.

Tamryn Christie from the Road Protect worked hard to pack as many food packets as possible.
