Kids brighten seniors’ day

Twinkle Stars Child Care spreads Mandela Day cheer at Wright Park’s Senior Citizen Gym Club.

The children from Twinkle Stars Child Care brought smiles to the faces of seniors at the Senior Citizen Gym Club in Wright Park as part of their Mandela Day initiative.

The visit, dedicated to Mandela’s 67 Minutes, saw the children engage in lively dance and sing-along sessions with the seniors.

Ouma Ntlhane, the school principal, said the decision to spend the day with the seniors was a heartfelt gesture to give back to the community’s elders.

In the spirit of generosity, the children presented the seniors with goodies. In return, the seniors had prepared sugary treats, creating a warm exchange of gifts and joy.

Senior citizen Amos Mbonani expressed gratitude to the school for their thoughtful visit, emphasising the significance of their gesture.

“As we all recognise the importance of Mandela Day, knowing his love for children, it means a lot to us that they remembered us on such a meaningful day,” said Mbonani.
