4:30am Running Crew hosts its ‘aches and pains’ breakfast

The 4:30am Running Crew celebrated its runners with a 'aches and pains' breakfast.

The 4:30am Running Crew hosted an ‘aches and pains’ breakfast at Grill O Steakery & Diner on Saturday to honour their Comrades Marathon runners.

The breakfast provided a platform for members to share their personal experiences since the marathon, reflecting on challenges, triumphs, and personal growth in their running journeys.

The club, comprising 40 athletes from various athletic clubs within Springs and other towns, emphasised friendship and mutual support among its members.

This gathering not only celebrated individual achievements but also fostered a sense of community and shared dedication to long-distance running.

“We had a runner who was a novice, some striving to reach ten Comrades, one completing their tenth, others nearing their twentieth, and one aiming for their 30th,” remarked coach Sipho Dzingwa.

“We promised to do much better next time, starting with our intensified training in July,” said Dzingwa.

“Again, well done, 4:30am Running Crew.”

Members enjoyed a hearty breakfast while exchanging stories of perseverance and determination, reaffirming their commitment to continue pushing their limits and supporting one another in their athletic endeavours.
