Karate stars from Kishou JKS Academy shine at JKS Nationals

Kishou JKS Academy Springs students clinched honours in the kata and kumite divisions at the recent JKS National competition, showcasing their martial arts skills.

The Kishou JKS Academy Springs students recently participated in the JKS National competition, achieving success across various categories.

Students Chichima Sikhonde and Shamikka Pakkiri competed in the elite divisions, while the other students participated in the development divisions.

The results:

• Chichima attained third place in kumite.

• Shamikka secured third-place finishes in both kata and kumite.

• Hato Ndlovu demonstrated skill by achieving third place in kata and kumite.

• Sisipho Gcanga attained second place in kumite.

• Siyamthanda Gcanga achieved third place in kata.

• Katelyn Pretorius earned third place in kata.

• Dylan Viljoen achieved dual third-place finishes in kata and kumite.

• Isabel van der Westhuizen earned second place in kata and third place in kumite.

Notably, Chichima’s and Shamikka’s outstanding performances earned them spots on the JKS South African team.
