Knitters knit for furry friends

Knitters from MachKnitz gathered for their weekly get-together, however, this time on a quest to knit warm clothes for animals at the Springs SPCA.

They have over 50 blankets and dog jerseys and are still expecting more.

Jackely-Ann Maree from MachKnitz said they made it a priority to start at the beginning of the year to allow the knitters to make as many blankets as possible.

“It was also to ensure that we’re done knitting them before the start of winter, as we had a bit of a delay last year, which we didn’t want to repeat.”

The MachKnitz knitters will be handing over these winter items on April 25.
