Enderun hydrates Geduld during heat wave season
Enderun College runs various initiatives during the course of the year.
Learners of Enderun College took to the streets in Geduld to provide much-needed hydration to the local community on February 15. The initiative was led by the college learners and department head, Tasneem Seedat.
They aimed to gather donations and distribute water to ensure everyone in the neighbourhood stayed hydrated during the hot weather.
Principal of the school, Ande Nongogo, said he is immensely proud of his learners for their proactive and compassionate approach to addressing the needs of the community.
“The drive exemplifies the college’s commitment to instilling a sense of social responsibility and empathy in our learners.”
He adds that the water initiative was not just a response to the challenging weather conditions but it also served as a demonstration of the learners’ dedication to making a positive impact beyond the walls of the school.
The learners fanned out across Geduld distributing bottles of water to residents, passersby, and local businesses. The gesture was met with gratitude and appreciation from the community, highlighting the importance of unity and support during challenging times.
“The success of this initiative would not have been possible without the collaboration and generosity of all the members who contributed to the cause.
“Enderun College extends its sincere thanks to all donors and partners who made this community hydration drive a reality.”
Nangogo adds that it is clear that the learners of Enderun College are not just learners within the classroom but active contributors to the well-being of the community at large.
“The college extends an open invitation to all community members to join hands in creating a better, more compassionate future for everyone.”
