Unified Scout Group held its first Session of the Strategic Planning Workshop, AGM and awards ceremony for the year recently.
The meet was conducted in Lodeyko where the group charted a way forward with their vision for 2024.
The awards handed out were as follows:
• Four Long Service Awards to one Adult Leader (scouter) and to two non-uniform members who served the group as committee members.
• Lucas Hlahane received his 15 Years Long Service Medal and a 20 Years Bar to the Long Service Medal
• Molala “Bra Solly” Matome received his 15 Years Long Service Medal
• Pastor Amon Hleza received his five Years Long Service Award ( Matome received Hleza’s award in his absentia).
• Rover Scout Mfundo Jiyane received his Personal Bar and the Career’s Award.

“We will be honouring more scout leaders for their long service at a special event in February, which will be hosted by the East Rand District of Scouts South Africa in Benoni,” Tebogo Rakgabyane the scout group leader.
Rakgabyane extends a vote of thanks to those who made the event a success.
“The group would like to thank Franco D’Arrigo for Sponsoring us with a Venue where both the meetings as well as the award ceremony was held.
“We would also like to thank all the parents and scouters who took the time to be with us on Saturday.”
The group admits members from five to 30 years old.
“Adults from the ages of 18 and above are also welcomed to join as Adult Scout Leaders.”
