Thugs ambush shop owner in Springs CBD

Shop robbed in broad daylight.

A shop in the CBD was robbed by armed men on Friday afternoon. The owner was in his shop when two unknown males entered the shop pretending to be customers.

The shop assistants attended to them and a third man entered the shop and approached the counter.

According to Sergeant Themba Tshabalala of the Springs SAPS, the victims claim that the two men ordered the assistants to lie on the floor.

The thugs moved to the back of the shop, behind the counter, and told the shop owner to lie down.

The victims’ hands were bound with cable ties.

The suspect at the counter asked for the money which was in a box. The robbers made off with R13 000 and various cellphones.
