Unified Scout Group ready for 2024

Unified Scout Group has its opening meeting for the year 2024 on Saturday, January 27.

Unified Scout Group held its first session of the strategic planning workshop, AGM and awards ceremony for the year on Saturday.

The meet was conducted in Lodeyko where the group charted a way forward with their vision for 2024.

The awards handed out were as follows:
• Four long service awards to one adult leader (Scouter) and to two non-uniform members, who served the group as committee members.

• Lucas Hlahane received his 15-year-long service medal and a 20-year bar to the long service medal.

• Molala “Bra Solly” Matome received his 15-year-long service medal.

• Pastor Amon Hleza received his five years long service award.

• Rover Scout Mfundo Jiyane received his personal bar and the career’s award.

“We will be honouring more scout leaders for their long service at a special event in February, which will be hosted by the East Rand District of Scouts South Africa in Benoni,” Tebogo Rakgabyane the scout group leader.

Rakgabyane extends a vote of thanks to those who made the event a success.

“The group would like to thank Franco D’Arrigo for sponsoring us with a venue where both the meetings as well as the award ceremony were held.

“We would also like to thank all the parents and scouters who took the time to be with us on Saturday.”

Unified Scout Group will hold its opening meeting on January 27. It will take place from 11h00 – 13h00 at I-MAC Scout Centre, corner 9936 Wauchope and Lesia Streets, Kwa-Thema.

The group admits members from five to 30 years old.

“Adults from the ages of 18 and above are also welcome to join as Adult Scout Leaders.”
