Co-owner thanks community after bombing

The shop at the filling station was destroyed in an ATM bombing three months ago.

Crime is a terrible event that many hope not to be victims of.

Unfortunately, it hits hardest when the targets become businesses that are the sources of people’s incomes and livelihoods.

This is the case for Julius Schwartz, the co-owner of the Engen filling station in Edelweiss that was robbed three months ago.

The filling station was the target of an ATM bombing, which saw the Quick Shop subsequently destroyed due to the impact.

Schwartz says the bombing was horrible and took its toll on everyone emotionally and mentally.

“It was a stressful time, and it had a substantial negative impact on us and our families.”

Repairs have been done to restore the filling station, and they are grateful to have had it done just before the festive season hits.

“It is such a relief to be able to reopen our shop and be back to full normal business.”

Schwartz thanks the members of the community for their support.

“We are honoured to be associated with customers like that.”
