Help Hope iThemba to help others

Hope iThemba Pregnancy Crisis Centre aims to help women going through pregnancy and mothers of young children understand their pregnancy so they can care for their children.

Hope iThemba recently hosted its Shower of Hope fundraiser at its Pregnancy Crisis Centre to stay afloat.

The event aimed to educate attendees about the services offered at the centre while raising funds.

Centre manager Doriann Venter said since the pandemic, the centre’s financial situation has become dire, especially with the loss of some of their sponsors.

“We decided to host the event to try and get new sponsors and donors,” said Venter.

“The aim was also to bring people in to see our centre and what we do.”

Venter said the community’s support and help are invaluable in transforming lives and creating a positive impact.

“We are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time week after week to serve our community,” Venter said.

The centre has ongoing requirements to sustain its mission of aid. Additionally, many mothers with infants urgently need baby essentials and necessities for themselves.

Venter said Hope iThemba anticipates more fundraisers in the future, with the recent event being the second hosted.

A guided tour of the centre was conducted for attendees from various mother and child organisations.

“We believe that’s a divine confirmation which enables us to look for better opportunities.

“We implore you to contribute in any of the ways mentioned. Your support is profoundly appreciated and carries blessings with it,” Venter said.

Hope iThemba Pregnancy Crisis Centre offers healing, hope, unconditional acceptance, and help to women and those whose lives are affected by crisis pregnancies, saving lives and protecting futures through practical, emotional and spiritual support.
