Payneville community terrorist sentenced to 20 years

Springs SAPS Sergeant Shadrack Masiloane was assigned to the case in 2020.

A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for several charges brought against him.

The sentencing comes after Brian Sihle Gusha was reported to have robbed the community of Payneville of their personal belongings.

Springs SAPS Sergeant Shadrack Masiloane was assigned to the case in 2020.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Themba Tshabalala said the suspect was traced and found in possession of an unlicensed firearm in Payneville.

“Gusha pleaded guilty at the Springs Magistrate’s Court to two counts of business robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm,” said Tshabalala.

Tshabalala added that the conviction will serve as a deterrent to other suspects who are terrorising the community.

The Springs Police Station commander, Brigadier Thembeka Gwebushe, applauded police members for their success in ensuring that suspects are brought to justice.
