Man murdered in Daggafontein

A 38-year-old man was shot dead in Daggafontein.

A 38-year-old man was shot dead at his home in Daggafontein on Friday afternoon.

It is alleged that four men wearing balaclavas passed the victim while he was sitting under a tree having lunch with his colleagues.

Springs SAPS spokesperson Themba Tshabalala says the group of men allegedly went to a white Mazda that was parked not far from where the victim and his friend were sitting.

“A few minutes later, gunshots were heard coming from the group of men,” said Tshabalala.

“Everyone ran in different directions as it was unclear where the gunshots were coming from.”

After the dust had settled, the friends discovered that one of them had been shot.

“The man was lying on his back with gunshot wounds. He was certified dead by paramedics on the scene,” added Tshabalala.

No arrests have been made.
