Doctor breaks new ground at FERH
Dr Bhongolethu Masebe is one of the doctors the Far East Rand Regional Hospital prides itself on.
The Far East Rand Hospital (FERH) is proud of Dr Bhongolethu Masebe, who performed the first laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) procedure at the hospital.
LAHV is a surgical procedure using a laparoscope to guide the removal of the uterus or fallopian tubes and ovaries through the birth canal.
This ground-breaking medical procedure was a testament to the hospital’s proud track record as a primary health facility in the community.
It has paved the way for many future patients to benefit from this.
Masebe is an obstetrician and gynaecologist at FERH.
He performed the successful procedure, and the patient was discharged with no complications or complaints.
FERH CEO Sonwabo Lindani applauded Masebe for his great work, citing that they are grateful to him and he always wants what is best for his patients.
