AIB supports community in honour of Nelson Mandela

The organisations surpassed their initial target for the food hampers.

A local business African Independent Brokers (AIB) partnered with The Soft Landings Foundation, an NPO dedicated to community aid and organise a food packing drive as a tribute to Nelson Mandela.

AIB staff members wholeheartedly joined forces under The Soft Landings banner to pack essential items such as rice, soya mince, mixed vegetables and fortified vitamin powder into food parcels.

Each parcel can nourish up to six individuals. With a target of 6 000 food parcels, AIB surpassed expectations by packing an astonishing 7 320 parcels.

This achievement contributes to The Soft Landings Foundation’s goal of feeding 1.5 million people in South Africa by the end of 2023.

This initiative not only pays homage to Nelson Mandela’s legacy but also showcases the unwavering dedication of AIB and The Soft Landings Foundation. They make a tangible difference within communities.

Kedi Maponyane, the MD of AIB, expressed gratitude for everyone’s efforts.

“We are incredibly fortunate to be agents of change today. It fills us with immense pride to be an integral part of The Soft Landings Foundation’s mission to leave the world in a better state.

“The Food Packing Drive on Mandela Day is just a fraction of our commitment to realising the vision of providing the world a Soft Landing,” said Maponyane.
