Buckingham Academy gives back to Springs’ furry friends for Mandela Day

The children decided to dedicate their time towards helping the animals of Springs.

Learners of Buckingham Academy graced Springs SPCA with a visit for Mandela Day. They were given a walk-around through the SPCA’s premises and were allowed to interact with the animals.

The learners, who were accompanied by their principal and some teachers, donated food and blankets for the animals.

“It is a joy to see children interact with the animals without fear. It brings joy to my heart to see them give their time to spend with the animals who always love a visit.

“The donations were the cherry on top and they are always appreciated,” said operations manager, Mandie Foreman.

The school’s principal, Catherine Bauthier, said that they intend to return to the SPCA to give back.

“I am extremely proud of my learners and grateful to their parents for teaching them the beauty of caring for others,” she said.
