A call for NPO board members

Local NPOs are looking for board members with a passion to work with senior citizens to send their applications.

NPOs Qhubela Phambili Community Development in Wright Park and Leratong Senior Citizens in Kwa-Thema are searching for board members to provide oversight to these organisations.

Social worker Wiseman Letsapa explains one requirement for an NGO to receive funding from the Department of Social Development (DSD) is to have existing board members.

“We are looking for individuals with a passion for working with older adults to support both organisations,” said Letsapa.

“We will shortlist the candidates, and they will go through a screening process.”

The individuals that are accepted also have to undergo a vetting process.

“Vetting is a process to perform a background check and verify the accuracy of documents and information about a candidate before making a final decision,” said Letsapa.

Drop your CV at the Kwa-Thema Skills Centre between 08:00 and 16:00. For more information, contact Letsapa on 079 498 4702.
