Online applications open for Gauteng learners

The Gauteng Department of Education said only parents applying for learners in these grades and those relocating from other provinces need to apply online.

Online admission applications for Grades One to Eight are open from June 15 to July 14.
The Gauteng Department of Education said only parents applying for learners in these grades and those relocating from other provinces need to apply online.
How to apply?
Parents can apply to a maximum of five schools per child using the online admission system. They can log in to www.gdeadmissions.gov.za or they can go to any ordinary public school in their area, any district office or the provincial Department of Education for face-to-face assistance.

In addition, the office of the premier identified public libraries and community centres to serve as walk-in centres to assist with the applications.
When making the first application, parents can use one of these application options: home address, work address, sibling, or previous school (applies only to Grade Eight).
Documents required when applying:
• Parents/legal guardian’s identity document
• Proof of home/work address
• Childbirth certificate
• Clinic card for Grade One applications
• Current school academic report card for Grade Eight applications
