A 62-year-old man was shot outside his workplace at around 08:00 on Tuesday on South Main Reef Road in Springs.
Sergeant Themba Tshabalala, Springs SAPS spokesperson, said the victim was approached by a man after alighting from a taxi.
“He was shot five times in the upper body. The shooter drove off in an unidentified car,” said Tshabalala.
“The man succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene.”
The motive of the shooting is unknown and no arrests have been made.
