A woman was hijacked in Selcourt on Sunday night.

The victim claims that she was driving a VW Tiguan (239SXDGP) along Tonk Meter Road, Selcourt.

A maroon Mazda then bumped into her car at the rear end.

“She stopped to check what is happening and the driver of the Mazda got out. As she was talking to him another man came out of the car with a firearm and threatened her,” explained Sergeant Themba Tshabalala, communications officer at the Springs Police Station.

It is alleged that the suspect then took two cellphones and jumped into the victim’s car and drove off.

“The driver of the Mazda jumped into his car and also drove off,” added Tshabalala.

No shots were fired.
