Libraries’ Fine Free Week

Ekurhuleni libraries give patrons another chance to return all borrowed materials free of charge.

The Ekurhuleni libraries are celebrating Fine Free Week, which began on March 27 and ends on April 1.

During this period, patrons are encouraged to return any overdue material because there is no extra charge.

“Patrons who may have missed the return dates of books or library material can drop them off at their nearest library, and there shall be no questions asked.

“We advise those who wish to hold onto the books for longer to physically visit a library and get the books re-issued for record purposes,” explained the metro’s spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini.

Patrons can also call their nearest libraries to extend their lending period, provided the return date has not yet passed.

Alternatively, you can send an email with the membership card number clearly stated in the email to info.libraries@ekurhuleni.gov.za.
