Golfers enjoy a wonderful golf course

Liz Sinclair won Gingers Day at the Pollak Park Golf Club over the weekend.

Gingers Day took place at the Pollak Park Golf Club this past weekend, with golfers relieved to be able to enjoy their game after the cyclone threat from last week.

Emerging victorious was Liz Sinclair with 41 points. Anton Koen was the runner-up with 38 points and, in third place, was Raymond Marran with 36 points.

The longest drive was had by Keith Phillips, the closest to the pin was Marran, and the king of the shorts was Craig Campbell.

Drawing in the doubles were Sinclair and Dave Nagel with 49 points.

Bruce Gardner of the club said despite the heavy rain, the course staff worked hard to ensure everyone could enjoy their golf weekend.

“The maintenance team mowed the fairways and greens to perfection, even though it was said that the grass is growing,” said Gardner.

“Thank you to those who showed concern.”
