Enderun College’s Helping Hands team initiates a water drive

The fundraiser started in January to help those who are in need of refreshing water.

The Enderun College’s Helping Hands team took to the streets of Geduld and surrounding areas to give people bottled water on Wednesday.

“Access to clean and safe drinking water is a fundamental human right, unfortunately, denied to many individuals across the world. Even in our local community, one in 10 is lacking this vital resource,” said educator and department head at Enderun College, Tasneem Mawadia.

The team at Enderun College was committed to providing water as the project started flowing in mid-January.

Grades 10 to 12 took to the streets armed with bottles of water and smiles to hydrate and keep people refreshed.

“The response was overwhelming. Individuals were elated to receive this precious resource and accepted it with open arms and cheerful smiles,” added Mawadia.

With the funds raised by the learners, 72 bottles of water could be bought.

“Thank you to our generous learners and everyone who helped to make this project a reality. We have shown how kindness and generosity can make a difference in the world.”
