Springs taxi chairperson murdered on First Street

Springs SAPS are investigating a case of murder.

A chairperson of the Long-distance Taxi Association died in a hail of bullets on First Street on Thursday.

The man was found inside a vehicle and had sustained two bullet injuries. All the side windows on the right-hand side were shattered.

“The deceased had suffered extensive head injuries,” said Springs SAPS Spokesperson Sergeant Themba Tshabalala.

“The body was on the passenger side and shattered glass was all over the interior.”

Tshabalala said four cartridges and two projectiles were found.

The motive is unknown, and no arrests have been made. Springs police are investigating a case of murder.
