The Springs SPCA held its Santa dash on Wednesday. The event, attended by about 60 runners, was a fundraising initiative for the organisation.
“It was a fun-filled evening with beautiful weather, food, furries and great people,” said vice-chairperson of the SPCA, Nicky Meiring.
She thanked those who supported the organisation throughout the year.
“We cannot thank the community enough for always showing up and supporting our events – every share, like and interaction on Facebook makes a difference and helps us reach our goals.
“We also cannot do this without our volunteers, committee members, staff and like-minded companies who take on these joint ventures with us.
“These include the Springs Country Club, Advertiser and Afriforum who not only kept us safe on the evening but also assisted with the layout of the course,” she said.
Their next fun run will be on February 2. Residents can also support the SPCA’s gift-wrapping initiative in Springs Mall from December 16.
