Residents share their frustrations over closed post offices

The alleged unannounced closure of post offices around Springs has been the talk of many residents.

The Springs Advertiser has been inundated with complaints from residents concerning the closure of local post offices.

Disgruntled citizens have voiced their frustrations at the inconvenience caused by the closures. It has also been alleged branches have been closed without notice.

One resident recently went to the post office in the Springs CBD and found red and white tape around the doors.

“How do we get our post, not that there was much as nobody was working? ” she asked.

South African Post Office’s media liaison Johan Kruger told the Advertiser the Springs post office was merged with Selcourt on the corner of Ramona and Hewitt roads.

“All postal items such as parcels were moved over to Selcourt, where customers are welcome to collect them. The Springs post boxes haven’t changed and are serviced as always.

“Dunnottar post office has merged with Sharon Park, which is at 12 Nigel S Road. Customers are always welcome to email us at SocialMedia@postoffice.co.za,” he said.
