Newly elected 2022/23 leadership council for Veritas College

Sixteen new leadership council members are among the changes that learners, parents and community will see at Veritas College at the start of the new term.

After a fair and thorough voting process, Veritas College elected their 2022/2023 leadership council who will start their new appointment duties officially when the new term begins on September 6.

Meet the executive of the newly elected leadership council at Veritas College. They are Prince Ndaba, Connor Page (president), Cassidy Kelly, Given Ditsego (president), Angelo Perikli and Jemma Toach.

The school’s principal, Judy Archary, described the election process as fair and democratic and said every learner was given a chance to campaign to the staff and learners at the school.
The appointment of the council was based on statistics and how the candidates presented themselves to the staff and learners.

“We also took their service time into consideration,” said Archary.
Some of the service time that the candidates had to do was participation in the parkrun, after-school activities, and inhouse and community services. The pandemic compromised the full required service hours for the learners.
As the reopening days of the new term draw nearer, Archary said they are confident the new leadership council will carry through the tasks exceptionally.
Archary encourages the leadership council to inspire, influence and guide others to participate in a common effort or goal.
“Our goal is to serve and lead the school. For our learners to serve the community better and to do good things for one another,” said Archary.
