On Wednesday, representatives from Impala Platinum Refineries handed over newly refurbished toilets to Payneville Primary School.
Impala set out to assist the school in whatever areas they needed intervention.
“The construction company is done, and we appreciate all the work done for us.
“We are grateful that the company prioritised our learners and is helping them gain respect and restore their dignity,” said Vusumuzi Masuku, the school’s principal.

The school’s buildings are prefabricated and have not been maintained since they opened in April 2012.
“The state of the toilets was really terrible. It was dilapidated and the floors were uneven,” explained Sibongile Zulu, a teacher.
Also in attendance for the handover were district officials Mariana Adams and Pooven Chetty.
