Small businesses get a boost
Three worker co-operatives and four SMMEs were launched.
The Small Enterprise Development Agency and Gold One Mine in Springs recently launched seven enterprises.
The enterprises are three worker co-operatives and four SMMEs.
One of the SMMEs is Big 5 Kitchen which has been with the Gold One Mine for many years.
Head chef Maria Motodi said they are thankful to be recognised by the company.
“We have been struggling with infrastructure. Seeing how the company recognised us gave us absolute joy,” she said.
Motodi said the new kitchen will also make them more accessible.
“We want to bring good food, and stand together as a team to serve the workers. God has answered our prayers and we are going to work hard,” said Motodi.
