Magan Makan’s lifeless body was discovered by a farm worker last Friday morning.
The seventy-four-year-old Bakerton resident was reported missing on April 19 after he did not return home that night.
“Makan used to sell foodstuff to farm dwellers in and around Springs. His car, a white bakkie, was found on Thursday on the N12 Etwatwa offramp,” explained Sgt Themba Tshabalala, communications officer at Springs SAPS.

The pensioner’s body was discovered as a farm worker was checking the mielie field in Sundra.
“He saw that something did not look right because some of the mielie plants had been disturbed. He then followed the footprints that led him to the corpse,” added Tshabalala.
Two suspects have since been arrested.
