Man hijacked by bogus officers

The victim was travelling on the N12 from Witbank towards Springs in his Toyota Fortuner.

A man was robbed of his car after he was stopped by fake EMPD officers last Tuesday night.
The victim was travelling on the N12 from Witbank towards Springs in his Toyota Fortuner.
“He was stopped by a white VW Golf and a white VW Polo and approached by one man who was dressed in full EMPD uniform.
“The officer then asked for his driver’s licence, which he handed to him,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora, communications officer of Springs SAPS.

The victim claims the officer asked if he had drugs in the vehicle.
“He stepped out of his car, and then three armed men appeared.
“The suspects took his car and drove away,” added Ramphora.
The victim went to Etwatwa SAPS to report the incident.
