EMPD celebrates 20th anniversary

As part of the celebrations, the EMPD partnered with the Reach for a Dream Foundation.

For 20 years, EMPD has been serving the people of Ekurhuleni.
As part of the celebration, the EMPD showcased its entire force in a show of strength and demonstration of how the department has grown.

In attendance at the festivities was Mayor Tania Campbell, who chatted with honorary officer Naasir Chand (5).

The milestone was commemorated at Emperors Palace on March 14.

The resort and casino GM, Clive Tavener, was on hand to welcome dignitaries to the Palace of Dreams, which included Mayor Tania Campbell and EMPD chief of police Isaac Mapiyeye.

As part of the celebrations, the department also partnered with the Reach for a Dream Foundation by swearing in 20 of the foundation’s children as honorary EMPD officers for the day.

Apart from seeing displays by the EMPD’s Equestrian and K9 units, the children were also able to interact with the dogs and horses.
