Metro launches licence disc renewal drive-through

The City of Ekurhuleni has opened a vehicle licence disc renewal drive-through facility in Springs.
The licensing drive-through facility is on Plantation Road at the Springs Civic Centre, next to the clinic.
It started operating on March 8.
The facility offers access to motor vehicle disc renewal services for vehicle owners.
Motorists will now be able to renew their vehicle licence discs from the comfort of their own cars.
MMC for Community Safety Clr Letlhogonolo Moseki stated the facility would bring quicker access to vehicle licence renewal services for the community of Springs and surrounding areas.

“We also intend to expand the footprint of this service to communities that cannot access such services conveniently,” he said.
Moseki added the City had previously launched the same service in Katlehong, Duduza and Kwa-Thema to bring vehicle licensing services closer to where communities reside.
The drive-through opens at 08:00 on weekdays.
